You don't have to match your exterior paints but make sure they don't clash. Be careful to keep in mind about geographical features surrounding the house, such as mountains in the background or even gravel or sand around the house. A colour like brown might look great in the store, but it might clash with the colour of the vegetation or the soil.

Paint on the walls is a great way to express yourself and your personality. Most decorators will say that you can just paint it over, but that holds true for the insides as your exterior paint requires a higher grade of paint and a lot more work. This also takes a lot more time and some places also require you to put up some scaffolding. Therefore it is important that you choose a colour that is neutral and you can live with it and like it for years.
