The Bugs are Waiting for You
Bugs are the number one hazard that can turn any outdoor adventure trip into a living nightmare. Giant ants, biting flies and mosquitoes are always ready for a free feast and you and your food are number one on their menu.
Dealing With Hungry Mosquitoes
Don't skimp on your mosquito repellent. Buy the best that is available and get two containers of it, in case one is lost or runs out. The secret is to spray it on your clothes and your tent, particularly the tent opening. Also give your sleeping bag a good dosing.

What About Determined Ants?
Head down to your local nursery and pick up a big container of powdered ant poison. When you finally establish a camp site, use the ant powder to encircle your camp and that always does the trick.
Thats What the Stuff is Made for
Don't forget to pick up a couple of large cans of Raid Yard Guard. The stuff works great for camping. Simply stand upwind of your camp site and give the whole area a liberal blast. Also, take the time to hit the perimeter of your camp as well.

If You Don't Want Them Don't Invite Them
If you throw food scraps around when you are finished eating, you are simply inviting raccoons, skunks and any other scavengers to come and join you, so make sure to burn all food left overs and paper plates in the camp fire when you are through eating.
